Pulling influences in equipment, style and tricks from the more well known sports of surfing, skateboarding, wake skating and skim boarding, strapless kiteboarding is a growing part of kiteboarding that is very much about individuality, self expression and having fun. The Strapless Kiteboarding Collective is a grassroots freeride event that will bring together strapless kiteboard enthusiasts at the Oregon Coast and Columbia River Gorge to showcase their strapless skills in surf, park and freestyle. By bringing riders together to share tricks, styles, equipment and ideas, our objective is to explore and further the level of strapless riding while increasing the awareness of kiteboarding and its crossover potential from other mainstream board sports. The event will be held July 12-15, 2007 *Sunday the 15th will be left open as a weather day.
