Hello to all the dutch Riders!!!

I am planning on making a trip over to Holland in July with a group of Kitesurfers and freestyle Landboarders/buggiers. I have a few questions which I hope you can help me with so we can have a good time. We plan to move around over 10 days so we will be able to visit several locations if the wind is right.

  • Is it better to go to the North or South?
  • We want to be able to drive for no more than 1 hour to any beach.
  • I would like to be in an area where we can get to beaches that face in all directions so we can always get out on the water.
  • We would also like the beaches to be hard packed so landboaders can fly.
  • Where can we stay ..any ideas of campsite that you have visited would be great.
  • We would also like to meet up with as many ducth riders as possible, as I am sure this would make the trip much better and give us vital local infomation.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You should come to IJmuiden at sea (same hight as Amsterdam).

There is a big beach where everybody does their thing, kiting, kite buggying, land boarding. And there is a kite shop at the boulevard, come check it out!

- remember most popular beaches have paid parking and kiteboard/landboard restrictions!

- we have a lot of spots here, so driving within the hour is always possible.

- winddirections vary a lot. When the wind is east (SE, E, NE) the coast is pretty much off shore everywhere between The Hague and Den Helder. Than you shhould visit Zeeland for the best spots I think.

- Try one of our Waddeneilanden: Texel, Vlieland, Terschelling of Ameland!

i would say: Texel..you can kite with every winddirection, landboarding is possible ( i guess), free parking as well, etc.

why would you need a hotel in amsterdam if you can sleep with a girl all night long for the same price...

Hahaha just kidding, yeah go to Holland and be sure checking out ijmuiden, but probably one of the islands up north is good for kiting and landboarding!

Kitecinema.com rocks!

go to terschelling, texel or another island, kiteable with every wind direction! very very big beaches and in the summer a lot to do at night.

Terschelling rulezz

wazzaah 27 January / 2006 / 15:17

Stay away from Terschelling, no fun.........dont come here......

Terschelling is ok, nice uncrowded beaches, most of the times a bit more wind then the rest of Holland, doesnt matter which direction the wind is, nice bars, restaurants, no coffeeshops . But..... you"re very isolated the rest of the time. So maybe nice for a day or 2

Hey Rubin len10 I bet your not going to be anywhere near your homeland in Early August this year? I bet you are going to be somewhere hot with lots of fit groupies

So Rubin where should I buy my weed from, because I am sick of the pollinated commercial weed that I can buy in the top coffee shops in Amsterdam (grey area/de damkring/katsu) to name a few! I love blonde hash or ice hash if I want to get really wrecked but my main smoke is and haze/sativa during the day and a few joints of indica later on.

By the way guys/gals thanks for all your info keep it comming.

Looks like it will be a larger group than we thought (30-40 expected)

if your going to terschelling, send me an e-mail i live in Harlingen, i know a few spots in the province of Friesland, Harlinge is the city from where the ferry departs to Terschelling.

btw, dont think ruubsie is a weed-expert? ;)

If you need weed when you leave for terschelling, let me know, cos i know some places here where you can supply yourself, just dont get caught on the island/ferry, "cos then your pretty much fucked.

Email me of you need more info or my cellphone number

Sincerely

If the island is in Holland I can still smoke?
Smoke Ice #

JoriZ 28 January / 2006 / 10:47
You can smoke on the island, no problem at all.
Only on the ferry to the island is a no drugs policy
Ride it like you stole it...

Fokke 28 January / 2006 / 10:58
Hey Howard, you can kitesurf on most spots along the west coast, but landboarding is mostly not allowed in top season (May till August). July is not the best wind month. In the south and north (zeeland en friesland) you are most secure of wind. On the islands in the north the wind is mostly 1 bft stronger
