PKRA announces Essaouira Kiteboard World Cup event to its lineup
Apr-18-2010
The PKRA (Professional Kiteboard Riders Association) is proud to announce that a Freestyle and Wave kiteboarding event in Essaouira Bay, Morocco has been added amongst the amazing list of tour stops this year. It will be the first time in PKRA history that a world cup event will be held in the African continent, making it a total of five out of seven continents in the world the PKRA will travel to this season, Asia being the first, Europe the second, North America third, Africa fourth, and Australia fifth.
This year Essaouira will host the much-anticipated first event of a whole series of this years wave tour season. It has been nearly two years since the last wave event, which was held in Chile, South America. The PKRA can prove once again its status as the only Professional World Kiteboarding Tour by expanding its reputation year after year.
Morocco is known for its abundance of world-class right-hand point breaks. The surf spots along its 3500kms of coastline fire from heavy northern Atlantic swell energy. It will be an unforgettable freestyle and wave competition, so don’t miss it.
In addition to the Morocco event, other changes have been made to the 2010 PKRA Calendar. This includes the cancelation of the Greece freestyle event and Brazil racing event. We are confident this will be the final 2010 calendar however there is the possibility of yet another event been added in September.
