hehe... eindelijk beginnen ze... morgen spannende dag !! :P
The Compactor Kiteboard Pro World Cup, last round of the Kiteboard Pro World Tour 2002, takes off in Barra da Tijuca ! The first three days without wind were actually rather rainy. Everybody takes this opportunity and free time for shopping and turism in Rio de Janeiro. Ipanema, Copacabana, Cocovado, … these locations are a living dream. Unbelievable. A beautiful way to have fun and relax before the competition. What a nice surprise this thursday morning when we wake up in Rio de Janeiro and discover the sun ! Barely no cloud in the sky. The Compactor Kiteboard Pro World Cup finally takes off today in Barra da Tijuca. The wind picks up and stays between 10 and 15 knots until 6pm. All riders rig their equipment and wait for their heat. We start with the women and complete the two first rounds. The heat between Sofia Rodriguez (SPA) and Laurence Lignieres (FRA) is extremely tight. The two girls give their outmost and Laurence wins the fight. Carol Freitas, the local champion, launches a good trick in the last seconds of her heat against Daniela Monteiro and she makes it through the second round. We can expect very interesting heats tomorrow between current World Champion, Fabienne D’Ortoli and german champion Kristin Boese as well as the one between isaraelian Hagit Oz and brazilian Carol Freitas. On the men side, no major surprise in the first round. The best riders of the Kiteboard Pro World Tour win their heats without any difficulty. Three Brazilians are in the second round Cunha, Freitas and Miller. The heats of the second round will be extremely spectacular : Cattelan vs Boure, Sudrat vs Le Bourgocq, Argov vs Deleau. They are all determined to win and the show on the water is bound to be outstanding.
