As the wind took up very early this morning, the first losers bracket started at 10 am. Perfect sideshore wind from the left, sunny weather, 30 to 35 knots: all the ingredients for the competition of the year. As Mark Shinn had bad luck yesterday, he had to restart from the beginning in the losers brackets, but: bad luck hit him again. In a board off transition, his board hit his nose and he had to stop his heat. Lucky Patrick Wiering went to the next round. The most amazing come back of the day was done by mr Style, Sky Solbach. He won one heat after the other, without any discussion at the judge’s area. First Jan Stockman, then Brauwer, Lago, Kevin Sudrat, Jose Luis, Julien Sudrat and finally: Aaron Hadlow. A completely exhausted Sky Solbach fighted until the end against the fresh Aaron. This final had everything it needed: HUGE jumps, board off stuff, handle passes and lots of kiteloops. Anyway, Aaron showed a perfect session, without mistakes at all. Finally Aaron won the second elimination and the event. Deserved. Congratulations Aaron.
But this was deninitely not the only show! Corinne Vlietinck, Laurel Eastman, Gabi Steindl, Arianne Saverys and Coralie Imbert gave the crowd an amazing demonstration of the world women kiteboarding capacities. The 4 women kited as their lives depended on it. Superb rotations, 1 foots, a hell of a show, Las Vegas would pay for it!
