The Ostend Kite Battle was a great success! It was the first time Oxbow sponsored a freestyle competition in Belgium and it was great. The first day we had good wind for 9m and I was able to win the single elimination from Christophe Tack. I had an amzing heat, some one handed stuff, mobes and a nice frontmobe pass to finish. For sure one of my best heats ever!
We started on the doubles right away, so later on the day there was a final heat again between Christophe and me. My first heat went really good, I landed almost everything. It was a very close heat but Christophe was better than me this time. So there was another heat for us. I wanted to start really strong with a very powered slimchance. But I went a little to hard so I crashed and my kite hit a wave. I lost quite some time and I wasn’t able to come back. So I ended on the 2nd place in the Ostend kitebattle against a very strong Christophe Tack.
Oxbow invited the world champion longboarding Antoine Delpero to promote the new Oxbow movie Walls of Perception. On the 3rd day of the event I had a photoshoot with Antoine while we were surfing some nice but small waves. It was very cool to see what he was able to do on those mini waves. In the evening it was première of the Oxbow movie! We watched the movie on the beach during sunset, super nice. Afterwards there was a nice party to finish this amazing event!
