This week I was on hildays at home. Of course it’s cold. Some sessions were only at 5°C, but the good thing is that I was kiting 6 out of 7 days. You can’t get such a good statistic on many places. I got my first HADLOW iD kite by Flexifoil. I liked the kite so much from the beginning. It’s stable, easy to ride, has an immense windrange, and is so much fun to ride. Also in gusty conditions it works well. The relaunch works super easy, only pull one steering line and the kite gets out of the water. When I crash freestyle tricks and the kite goes down, it waits on one side until I’m back hooked and can go on in a second. This motivates me a lot to push me harder to get new tricks. Thanks to its stability you can go downwind to the kite quick without any stall, that makes the kite perfect for freestyle and waves, too. The kite offers two options to change the setup. You can use it in full power mode. Then it has more power and is a bit slower during turns, plus it has more post pop slack lining to make the handlepasses easier. This mode is perfect for freestyle and big air, because the hangtime is better than in the less power mode. In less power mode it has less power, like it’s called. But you can use it at the same wind range, as the kite turns faster and makes you ride by its speed. In this mode the kite is easier to ride and the perfect choice for waves and beginners.
If you need a kite for pure unhooked freestyle, I would say the HADLOW PRO is the kite of your choice. If you are looking for a kite to get into freestyle, or you like to do freestyle tricks, but also go for waves, huge jumps and cruising the HADLOW iD is the kite you dream of.
In my opinion there isn’t a bit difference between the freestyle performance of both kites. Only thing is that it’s a bit easier to pass the bar with the PRO. The iD offers more depower and is more comfortable to ride in gusty conditions.
