10.00am : Welcome to Lautaret beach.... The sun is still doing us the great pleasure of being extremely present.
Today should see the double elimination get underway.
11.30am : Kiteskier Earling Lefsaker makes a quite exceptional climb up the ladder and lies in 3rd place.
12.00am : The good 15 knots of wind means we can finish off the finals of the women and junior disciplines.
Despite a really good performance in her first heat and great exploitation of the terrain, reigning women’s champ Agnes Fontenay cannot hold onto her 2004 title...for this round at least.
Lots of big risks and a very committed style help Karrian Tragethon confirm her new-won status by taking the single and double elimination at this opening round of the 2005 Corona Extra Winter Tour. It’s a French 2/3/4 though with Fontenay, Zoe Parmentier and Estelle Lambert following Tragethon home.
1.30pm : Junior time and young Sebastien Bubmann is riding very comfortably but with lots of energy. He too follows his win in the single elimination with victory here in the double, with Arne Georg Eide Dokken and Thomas Bankes 2nd and 3rd respectively.
There’s still suspense regarding the ski and board double elimination men’s events going into the last day tomorrow. In ski, the semi features Lefsaker against Ingrosso, with the ‘lucky’ winner going on to meet Kaupang to decide who’s going to stand on top of that podium.
Also on offer, the snowboard final featuring the massed talents of Botnen, Meum, Fabretti and Chastagnol, too see who will take the title at this important opening round at Lautaret.
We’re all holding our breath for what should be a stonking final day and to see who are the eventual winners !
