Some fantastic kitesurfing at the festival too with no less than three separate kite disciplines run. In Kite Cross, the new discipline that’s stirring up loads of interest, Frenchie Charles Deleau took it from compatriot Philippe Martin and Portuguese Rui Pedro Meira. In the speed event, another Frenchie Seb Cattelan was best overall ahead of German Dirk Hanel and a series of French riders including Julien Sudrat, Manu Taub, Raphael Salles and Sylvain Maurin. The women’s speed event saw a sensational performance from French rider Charlotte Consorti in beating her own world record with 33.47 knots. We had hoped to see the final stages of the men’s and women’s freestyle today but conditions didn’t unfortunately allow... That means overall first place for single elimination winner, young Frenchie Thomas Coquelet ahead of Benjamin Dupont and Tom Hebert. The women’s contest was won by Claudine Podvin with Britain’s Kirsty Jones a creditable second.
