Two new freestyle events have been added for the 2013 season: one in Pingtan, China and the other in Argentina. Three new slalom events have also been added: Fuerteventura, China and Argentina. The events of Morocco-Essaouira, Australia and South Africa have officially been canceled.
The first slalom event of the year is in Mexico, it is only a couple weeks away and a perfect place to start the season. Riders will have a chance to take home some of the $11,000 in prize money and get a lead in the Slalom World title race. This is the first time that the slalom world championship will be given over a full season and it is a great opportunity for up and coming riders to claim a world title. Here are the details for the changes to the 2013 PKRA season.
Fuerteventura Slalom: Adding 3 days for Slalom So it will be:
Registration Slalom Fuerteventura July 26
Slalom Fuerteventura July 27 -29
Registration Freestyle Fuerteventura July 29
Freestyle Fuerteventura, July 30th - August 3rd
China Pingtan (Freestyle- Slalom):
Registration on November 1.
PKRA Pingtan November 2nd - 7th.
China Hainan (Freestyle - Slalom): (it changed by one day)
Registration on November 10th
PKRA Hainan November 11th - 16th.
Argentina (Freestyle - Slalom):
Registration: December 2nd
PKRA Argentina: December 3rd - 8th
Morocco, Essaouira: Canceled
Australia: Canceled
South Africa: Canceled
This means that the PKRA will have a total of seven slalom events throughout the world and ten freestyle events. This brings the prize money purse over to 500,000$ for the 2013 season. The battles to become world champion are going to be epic.
