Following the outstanding 2011 and 2012 seasons, the KSP is putting all their efforts towards the two upcoming 2013 world tour events to crown this year’s KSP World Champions. To strengthen the team, the KSP board members nominated Nicholas Thiede to take on the role of the new KSP Tour Manager, putting their trust in his passion, business experience and energy.
Nicholas Thiede, an internet entrepreneur from Berlin/Germany who now lives in Tanzania, exclaims: "I am super excited to contribute to the success of this exceptional tour. Watching the world’s top wave riders compete on the KSP world tour is the best our sport has to offer to me. I am looking forward to being part of the team and will be discovering Africa’s best wave spots between KSP tour stops for possible future events.”
Thiede is a passionate kite surfer himself and started kiting 12 years ago. He will take on his new role as the KSP tour manager today - August 1, 2013.
Kristin Boese, KSP President about the new team member: "The KSP needs some fresh energy and well-rounded experience in the team. Nicholas brings in a great combination of business skills from his leading roles in various internet businesses as well as an incredible passion for kite surfing. I am sure the KSP will hugely benefit from Nicholas’ drive. At the same time, the KSP thanks Terry McKenna for spear heading the KSP tour during the past 7 months."
