Wissenswertes worüber Kitesurfer und Lehrer nichts erzählen wenn du mit dem Kitesurfen beginnst.
Asking kiteboarders and instructors about their learning experience is in a way similar as asking mothers about giving birth. After some time, they both seem to have ‘forgotten’ the struggle and pain.
Actually, when you think about it, you pretty much already know the answers to your questions, right? Is it difficult? Is it going to hurt? As for giving birth, I cannot tell you but I would guess: Hell, yes, it is going to hurt and things could get quite complicated -there is a child trying to come out of your body. Does that sound like easy?
As for kiteboarding it is kinda the same, let’s face it: you are trying to use a kite and a board to fly over water. It will take the usual bruises, sweat, tears and determination to nail it down. Do not be fooled by appearance when you see guys cruising around like it is nothing. Looks are deceiving. Do you see a cute little baby or a monster who kept her parents up all night?
Experienced kiteboarders (and mothers) do not tell you anything about the negative because: 1. They want you to suffer too, or/and, 2. The enjoyment of kiteboarding (having a child) after your learning process (giving birth) is such a beautiful thing that it makes all the effort and muscle pain more than worth it.
However, before I step over to the other side, and I ‘forget’, do let me share with you 5 Things That Nobody Tells You About Kiteboarding:
1. It is tough
Instructors, kiteboarders, all of them constantly go on about how kiteboarding is for all ages, and that everyone can learn to kiteboard with the slightest effort. Well, yes, in theory everyone can learn to kiteboard, and yes, it does help that kiteboarding is more about safety measures and technique than raw strength. But, it is still freaking hard. You will have to put in quite a decent amount of determination, patience, time and energy into kiteboarding to become an independent, basic kiteboarder.
