Reno Romeu was born and raised in the “Marvellous City”, Rio de Janeiro, and has since been connected with the ocean, and extreme sports in general, for as long as he can remember.
In 2002, Reno’s dad started to get involved with the sport of kiteboarding. Reno made the most being invited to join in his first beginner’s class; he picked up the tricks and style in record time, and within a couple of years, he was already competing as a pro!
Reno’s continually improving competition performances have managed to secure him some significant results. Next up on his agenda is his biggest goal; becoming the next World Champ. When he isn’t strapped to his kiteboard, you can find him surfing or wakeboarding, travelling the world competing, shooting for movies and sponsor campaigns, as well as exploring new places, experiencing new cultures and meeting new people.
“I love kiteboarding! It gives you a combination of freedom and adrenaline that just can’t be beaten. I am really excited about Red Bull King of the Air because the competition features some of the best kiteboarding I have ever seen in my life.”
