Complete leegloop bij Best lijkt het wel, ook Lewis Crathern heeft Best verlaten en gaat naar met North kites varen.
Welcome to the Team Lewis Crathern!
Lewis is one of the most committed kiteboarders there is, playing a fundamental part in the growth of the sport both in the UK and International scene. Through channelling his passion for the sport into educating people, his energy and focus has helped to expand the reach of kiteboarding.
We caught up with Lewis to hear what he had to say.
What's your Kiteboarding background?
“My family are sports fanatics and being raised by the sea sparked my interest for kiteboarding in 2003. It was not long before my competitive nature drew me to the British Freestyle competition scene where I began my Kitesurfing career. I became Kiteboard British Champion in 2005 and British Kitesurfing Champion 2006/2007/2008. At this time guys like Sam Light and James Boulding were in their early days so it was a very progressive time which really helped me transition from Big Air to Wakestyle. We had all seen Aaron Hadlow and Tom Court move on to bigger things on the World Tour so that really helped us think bigger.
After a break from competition during 2009 & 2010 I realised the massive potential of the sport when I boosted over Worthing and Brighton Piers. I think those feats really helped the mainstream public understand the sport better and in turn gave me my big air identity.
