After ending 2nd in the singles I had to wait a long time to go out again, because the day after we finished the singles there was no wind…
The 3rd day the conditions were great perfect wind for my 10m and so nice kickers. But when some clouds came in it started to rain and the wind picked up so everyone had to come of the water. When the clouds passed by, the wind got very unstable and it was late in the day already so they canceled it for that day.
The 4th day there was no wind in the morning but the wind forecast said that the wind will come later that day. I had a good breakfast and I was in a good mood. After waiting a few hours on the beach the wind turned from onshore to side offshore. A half hour later the wind picked up. And they started the first heat.

PKRA Portugal update 2 Single and Double Elimination

The first day we kited the single. There was no one in my first heat so I automatic past. After waiting for al long time I finally could go in the water. I was in my heat with Bruna form Brazil and I didn’t past that heat. We kited that day with 10. The rest of the day I did some free riding. I woke up pretty early today. I walked up to the roof of our apartment and watch the wind from there. It was windy again and I was stocked to do the double elimination. We had skippers meeting at 10 o’clock. I was in my first heat against a local girl and I past that heat. After that heat I was against Katja Roose from Holland. It was my worst heat ever. My heat just started and a made a stupid fault, I did a transition and my kite was above my and the kite felt out of the air. So I was swimming there and a wave catch my kite and I couldn’t get it out. After a few minutes of swimming I finally get my kite out. But no “where is my board?!” Ah my brother was standing on the beach with another board ,thanks bro!! I tried to do the best I could. I did some kiteloops and than my heat was finish. Bad luck

2nd in single elimination

I just ended 2 in the single elimination. My first heat I had nobody so I did not had to go out. There was nobody in my heat because there were only 29 competitors and there were 32 places. So the top 3 did not had to go out. Than the second heat I had to go against Dussen he is a local guy. I past that heat so next up was Rui Meira he also rides for Naish. He rides really well so I had to give some extra gas to beat him!!! It was a close heat but I won. By that time I was already in the semifinal. In the semifinal I had to go against Alvaro Onieva he beat me in Venezuela and I did not wanted to happen again. So I pulled out all my tricks that I got and that was enough to beat him.

PKRA Portugal

After waking up at 3.30 am we went with the car to Rotterdam airport. It toke us 45min to get there so that was not so long. Checking in our baggage it looked like we did not had to pay but than at the last moment the woman behind the deck sad ‘you have to much kilo so you have to pay… We paid and went true the security check. It was a short flight we landed in 2.5 hours on Faro airport. When we arrived there was no wind at all…

It took some time but finally I got permission from school. My sponsor send a letter to the school inspection. And they gave me free for this tour stop!
We left at the 10^th of June from Rotterdam to Portugal (Faro). We left at 7 in the morning. It was a pretty short flight so no jetlag, perfect! My parents are with me so we rented a car and drove to Alvor where we check out the place of the event. Later that day we saw the wind picking up. So we went so fast as possible to beach, pump our 10 and had so fun out there.
