Sjoukje Bredenkamp Smashes World Speed Record in Namibia South African Naish Team rider Sjoukje Bredenkamp just demolished Aurelia Herpin's previous World 500m record by almost 2 knots! She produced a stunning run of 37.24kts putting her name in the record books!
The winds were not very strong and there was only enough wind for one good day during the event. "Establishing this record under the conditions that we had is an awesome achievement." Said Rob Munro, fellow competitor and head of Naish South Africa. "Just think of what she could of done if the winds were stronger!"
Bredenkamp was using the 2007 Raven 8m and stock 24m lines. The result is official and has been rectified by the WSSRC.
After this win, Naish has finished strong in all of the speed events this year. Naish currently has the world title in men's PKRA Speed with Cristophe Prin-Guenon, a win at the Weymouth Speed Trials in the UK with Nigel Bowley, and now the female world record with Bredenkamp. Congratulations to all the of the Naish speedsters! Proven to be the fastest on the w
