Armin Harich
Oceanside:
Hi Armin, I guess 2006 has been a very interesting year in the kite-market with the dramatic introduction and success of the Bow kites. How did these developments in the tubekite market affect Flysurfer?
Armin:
It was very similar to the year of the Recon when Cabrinha tried to copy our easy backwards relaunch. The Bow is only an Inflatable kite with bridles in order to get a bit more flat FS-like shape into the Inflatables.
The funny thing is that the Bows just pushed our sales up as people are not so negative against bridles anymore and now see the benefits from them too.

The PSYCHO3
Os:
Some brands, like "Best" have tried to gain market shares with a very aggressive, price-driven policy and on the surface, seem to have had a good year. Others brands like yourself have maintained higher prices and arguably higher quality but do you think that higher prices are sustainable in the near future or do you think that soon all manufacturers will have to lower their pricing?
A:
There will always be both. Cheaper and more expensive products and that is very good for the market. As long as the company gets their investment for their development back there will be new developments in the market. Older, slightly dated developments will always be cheaper.
Flysurfer doesn't want to be the biggest company in the world. We want satisfied customers with a premium product that is ahead of its time. But it isn't easy to do that. But that is and will remain our main goal. However, it is also important to grow in order to have the possibilities to develop better and better products.
