Annelous ging vorige week t water op om geld op te halen voor de ALS stichting, 200 kilmeter kiten op 1 dag.
This year the Dutch ALS Foundation organised the "Toer voor ALS - Home Edition". Everyone could come up with their own challenge to do at home to go the extra mile and raise money, because nothing is too far in the battle against this terrible disease. Unfortunately there is still no cure and by raising money hopefully there will be more hope for the patients in the future. Thank you EVERYONE who donated, together we raised just over €3.600,- and you can still donate until the 8th of November. The website is in Dutch, let me know if you need any help translating. https://www.toervoorals.nl/actie/anne...
It was a good battle against the elements. Rigged up in the dark and started with the first light half an hour before sunrise. After 4 hours I had to change from 8m to 5m and the wind got pretty gusty when it started raining. Cold feet, no more feeling in my hands and in the end I could barely change stance because my legs got so tired. But I had amazing support from the beach and and the reason I started this challenge gave so much energy to keep going. It took me 8h40 including the interviews and kite switch. Big thanks to Andy Troy for the videos, the help on the beach and to my parents that were there the whole day to help me out and make sure I was staying safe.
